Benjamin Britten Noye’s Fludde

21, 22 May (London) + 28 May (Lille) 2013

NLO brings together young people from East London to celebrate the 100th birthday of Benjamin Britten, one of the UK’s most brilliant composers, with three fully-staged performances of Noye’s Fludde, his elaborate and imaginative opera that breathes life into the legendary story of Noah’s Ark.

The two UK performances will take place in London’s only lighthouse and will feature 100s of young performers from Newham Academy of Music, performing alongside soloists Henry Manning and Catherine Hopper, with narration from actress Tameka Empson (Eastenders / 3 Non-Blondes). We will then give a performance in France in collaboration with the Orchestre National de Lille.
